Some of them, such as Lake Tunisee or the Opfinger Baggersee, can be visited on your day trip by bike.

Hiking in the Black Forest
The Black Forest is a hiking paradise.
Enjoy the numerous circular hiking trails, which you can individually adapt in terms of length and difficulty.
The three highest mountains in the Black Forest - Feldberg, Baldenweger Buck and Seebuck - are definitely worth a visit.
You should also see the Herzogenhorn and the Belchen. The panoramic view from the Belchen is breathtaking.
Of course, the Schauinsland (Freiburg’s local mountain) is also worth seeing.
Simply take the Schauinsland cable car up to the mountain station.
Treat yourself to a short break with wine spritzer and tarte flambée and hike back down to the valley after your successful day trip.
The Black Forest also has beautiful gorges that you can explore on your hike.
The Ravenna Gorge in the Höllental Valley is particularly noteworthy. It attracts many hiking enthusiasts every year.
There are also many waterfalls in the Black Forest.
For example, the Todtnau Waterfall has a wonderful hiking trail that stretches along the waterfall.
We also recommend the Triberg Waterfall, which is romantically illuminated in the evening/night.

Brooms decorated with colorful ribbons can be seen at the roadside or at the entrance to a town, pointing to a so-called Besenwirtschaft,
Straußenwirtschaft (also: Strauße, Straußi).
It is a small restaurant, characterized by hearty home-cooked meals, homemade wines, must or fruit brandies from the in-house distillery.
You will find these small restaurants along the Baden Wine Route, in the Breisgau and Markgräflerland, around the Kaiserstuhl and Tuniberg
and in the Freiburg area.
A list of well-known wine taverns in the surrounding area is available upon request from our friendly service team.
The Landhaus Blum restaurant also offers some of the typical Straußwirtschaft dishes in its beer garden, such as sausage salad or flammkuchen.
